Three ETH Professors recently joined the CLS faculty: Prof. Dr. Olga Fink from the Dept. of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, as well as Prof. Dr. Christian Holz and Prof. Dr. Mrinmaya Sachan, both from the Dept. of Computer Science.
Olga Fink leads the Intelligent Maintenance Systems research group, part of the Institute of Construction & Infrastructure Management at the Dept. of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG). Current research areas include deep learning and decision support algorithms for intelligent fault detection, diagnostics and prognostics of complex industrial assets, as well as data‐driven condition‐based and predictive maintenance.
Christian Holz heads the Sensing, Interaction & Perception Lab (SIPLAB), is part of the Institute for Intelligent Interactive Systems, Dept. of Computer Science (D-INFK) and also affiliated with the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET). SIPLAB is a cross-disciplinary research group working on computational interaction, physical computing, and mobile health. The work of the group straddles human-computer interaction, virtual reality, wearable devices, and applied machine learning.
The research group of Mrinmaya Sachan is part of the Institute for Machine Learning at the Dept. of Computer Science (D-INFK). The group works on building machine learning models for natural language processing, knowledge discovery and reasoning, as well as problems in the intersection of natural language processing and education.
Welcome to all three!
