CLS2021 Summer Fellows Retreat attracts more than 50 participants
cls 05 July 2021 News
One-day fully virtual event hosted by the CLS doctoral fellows
This students-for-students event was aimed at learning systems researchers at the PhD stage and covers a mix of scientific, careers and social topics. Due to the ongoing pandemic situation and the geographical spread of our community, the event was fully virtual. More than 50 early stage researchers joined the event over the course of the day, plus 10 guest speakers/panellists.
Since this was the first CLS event in this format, the feedback of participants was important. Some individual comments about what was liked:
"Panel discussion about industry internship was very interesting."
"The part that the speakers shared their experience about their P.h.D at CLS and the period after that. It helps a lot to see what is waiting for you."
"Great talks."
"The talk by Jonas Peters, it was fun and very informative."
"The pub quiz, because it allowed me to meet some of my fellow students for the very first time."
"Mix of different activities, get together with people outside of cls."
77% of respondents found the duration about right and 83% would support holding such a students-for-students event again in the future.
We are already looking forward to the 2022 edition!
