Julian Nubert receives Willi Studer Prize

Julian Nubert will receive two honours for his outstanding performance in the Master’s degree programme in Robotics, Systems and Control at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT), ETH Zurich.
The Willi Studer Prize, part of the bequest of entrepreneur Dr. h.c. Willi Studer, has been awarded since 1993 to the best student in each ETH Zurich Master’s degree programme according to the pertaining directives. With his top-ranking performance, Julian Nubert shares the 2020 Willi Studer Prize in Robotics, Systems and Control with two equally-placed fellow students.
In addition, Julian will receive an ETH Medal for an Outstanding Master’s Thesis for his research on “Learning-based Approximate Robust MPC”, carried out in the Intelligent Control Systems group, MPI for Intelligent Systems, under the supervision of Dr. Sebastian Trimpe. Recipients are honoured with the Silver Medal of ETH Zurich.
Julian Nubert joins the CLS as a PhD Fellow from July 1, 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marco Hutter (Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, D-MAVT, ETH Zurich) and co-supervised by Katherine J. Kuchenbecker, Ph.D. (Director, Haptic Intelligence Department and Managing Director, MPI for Intelligent Systems).
