Patrik Wolf receives ETH Medal for an Outstanding Master's Thesis

New CLS doctoral fellow Patrik Wolf has been awarded the ETH Medal for an Outstanding Master’s Thesis in recognition of his research on “Gradient Flow for Matrix Factorization”, carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yue M. Lu and Dr. Jorio Cocola at Harvard University. Recipients are honoured with the Silver Medal of ETH Zurich.
This work formed the dissertation for Patrik's Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Department of the same name (D-ITET), ETH Zurich. Patrik obtained his Master's degree with distinction in October 2024.
Patrik Wolf joined CLS as a PhD Fellow on April 1, 2025 under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas Krause (Professor of Computer Science at ETH Zurich and Head of the Learning & Adaptive Systems Group) and Dr. Celestine Mendler-Dünner (PI at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen and MPI for Intelligent Systems; Head of the Algorithms and Society Group).
