A PhD is a journey. How do you navigate?
Doing science is a roller coaster and doing a PhD means getting comfortable in the driver’s seat. But whose job is it to have their hands on the steering wheel? This workshop discusses the nature of the mentor-mentee relationship in academia and is designed to help students navigate their PhD journey successfully. Participants gain clarity about their own expectations and role and how these relate to the expectations and role of their mentor. They also learn and apply effective communication tools to align diverging expectations, reduce uncertainties and strengthen the professional relationship with their mentor. The workshop is interactive including peer discussions and exercises for self-reflection.
